    Good stuff.

On the political scene I am an independent. Still, I hope Republicans will remind the majority party that a win in one election is not a mandate for them regarding their own election and their oath of office. The beauty of our country is that the President is not King, and that the people who voted against him still have power to their voice. I prefer a stalemate to the costs of Republican compromise.

Given the unlikely event of Barack Obama shedding his evil socialist ways or that he will not continue to spend like actually had the money, Republicans in the House must put a stop to it. Even if they have to shut government down, that is better than allowing this monstrous debt from growing. Even if these people lose their seats it is better than just going along so as to not offend anyone.

I misread what you wrote John. I took it to mean you needed encouragement because of our political situation.

I followed your link to the piece on Psalms. What the Psalmist says is encouraging. Maybe that is why many folks including me find God a comforting companion. We seek Him in troubled times and through prayer and service to others, find refuge. Whatever comes, I know it is all within a greater plan. He sees it in advance and has made provisions to deal with it in His own way. It may not be our way and He does not confide in us what the details are, but believers can live with whatever happens.
