In the spirit of the Monty Python palate cleanser, to follow this, may I suggest a video clip from AmSpec of Mitt and Newt reprising the beloved “Who’s on First” routine. One of my all-time favorites, and well edited in the “Bad Lip Reading” mode.

Great clip Lowell. It is heartening to listen to people who share Prager’s views. He can take a seat of honor next to John and the Frenches.

Yes, it is heartening to hear Prager’s response.
With regard to the caller, there are some things to point out. It is common among institutions that disseminate anti-Mormon rhetoric through literature or seminars to lay claim to having the ‘straight scoop’ from former members themselves, as this individual did by mentioning “Mormon Bishops” he had associated with. But the problem is, he and others like him then cite folklore and speculation as if it were Church doctrine.
Examples of common Christian folklore and speculation include angels with wings, playing harps in heaven, and the nature of Hell as portrayed by Dante Alighieri in his epic “Inferno”. There is frankly very little revealed on these subjects but we humans love to fill in the gaps or make interpretations of things — as we have been left to do.
Regarding the conception of Christ, Mormon’s believe no more than what it says in the New Testament. The speculation by the caller is unfounded, and not a Church position in any way.
