Proof – Biased Media
This is somewhat off topic for this blog, but there is a vague politico-religious angle, so we’ll plunge in.
The last two weeks have seen two terrorist attacks in this nation. True, they were small-scale, but they were terrorism nonetheless.
The first occurred June 1, when an Islamic terrorist killed a member of our military at a recruiting station. That soldier was buried Tuesday virtually completely without media notice.
Yesterday, an anti-semitic nutjob killed a guard at the Holocaust museum.
Both events are deplorable. Both events have an underlying, grossly misguided religious motivation. Both resulted in the death of true American heroes. One would think both would be pounced upon equally by the media.
Last night’s Campbell Brown on CNN was wall-to-wall coverage of the horrific events at the Holocaust Museum, including a panel segment devoted to the question “Are we chasing the wrong bad guys?” Yet I had to dig and dig to find mention of the burial of Private Long.
What’s the difference? Well, the recruiting center events were motivated by Islamic sentiment and the victim was a soldier. The Holocaust Museum events were motivated by “hatred” and the victim was a private citizen, even if uniformed guard. In other words, one the left does not want to notice, and one the left does. And the coverage is proof of the political bias thereof.
The bias is old news, but we need to keep compiling the evidence.
Honor is due to Private William Long and Stephen Tyrone Johns for their defense of innocents. And it must be noted that Private Long died in service to his nation – whether the news media notices or not.
Lowell: I am sorry to have to say this, but the notion that the Holocaust Museum murder suggests we are “chasing the wrong bad guys” is asinine and insulting to anyone’s intelligence. Don’t they have editors at CNN?

“Anti-semitic nut jobs” kill living Jews every month in Israel. Blowing up a bus carrying Jewish women and children is just as much an anti-semitic crime as an attack on the US Holocaust Museum or Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial in Israel. Indeed, the state of Israel exists as a living memorial to the survival of the Jews despite Holocausts and pogroms and purges stretching back to 1492 and earlier.
Yet there is an odd disconnect in the liberal news media that sees more importance in preserving the memory of the Holocaust than in preserving the living nation of Israel. The museum attacker, no matter what his ethnic or religious background, is an ally of the Muslim convert who thinks it is his duty to kill American soldiers. They are simply two points along a unified Axis of Evil that stretches from Adolph Hitler to Osama bin Laden.
The rabid jihadists know that, in the final analysis, the US military will stand in the way of a Second Holocaust carried out by those militant Muslims who declare their goal of exterminating Israel. An American soldier is a guard at the gate of Israel, the living memorial to the Holocaust.
So why doesn’t the liberal news media say this clearly? Because it is afraid of militant Muslims. It knows that journalists are kidnapped and beheaded by them, and their first reaction is not courageous defiance in telling the truth but fearful backing down, as was the case when the entire CNN bureau in Baghdad refused to tell the truth about the brutality of the Saddam Hussein dictatorship. Larry O’Donnell is fearless in blasting Mormons, but he admitted that he will never do the same to Muslims because they scare him.
