He himself lives in North Carolina, and he is afriad that anti-Mormon prejudice in southern states could be enough to cause McCain to lose one or two states and with that the election, at a time when McCain is needed to defend both the nation against Islamo-Nazis and our laws against the institution of gay marriage through judicial tyranny. I have to bow to Card's first hand familiarity with his neighbors. If he is correct, I am amazed that a lot of people in the South would think that a Mormon who is a father of 5 sons and many grandchildren, and married to the same woman for over 35 years, is a greater danger to Evangelical Christians than a man whose "Christianity" has no problem with gay marriage and abortion and whose pastor for 20 years has regularly said "God d--n America." They are completely determined to elect Obama and will smear Romey by whatever means possible. It's another reason for Mitt to not accept the VP slot. Joe Lieberman had to abandon his priciples to run with Kery, I don't want to see the same happen to Mitt. Had Reagan run with Ford in1976 he would have runied his opportunity in 1980. Mitt needs to spend the next 4 years speaking and working with republicans across the country, then win the presidency in 2012.
