Perhaps it is because he knows that there are black Mormons, Hispanic Mormons, Asian Mormons, and Polynesian Mormons right there in the greater Los Angeles area. I love Pastor Murray. He has been one of my heroes since I first met him five years ago. He helped me through some challenges I was having with a son, and I have kept his written counsel as a guide. He remains my quintessential example of compassion and openness. I am also a Mormon. (In fact, Mitt Romney was one of my husband's ecclesiastical leaders in Boston. In a recent house cleaning, my husband found two old temple recommends signed by W. Mitt Romney.) I have thought about who I would approach if I had some struggles with my children or even if I simply needed comfort. It would be Pastor Chip. Hands down.
