The Question hits "the Big Time" – a NYTimes piece.  Sadly, there is nothing "big time" about the article.  The "extended interview on the subject as he drove through South Carolina last week" reveals nothing that has not already been revealed.  The piece quotes the usual suspects, already quoted and they too say nothing new.  Revealing prejudice, they lead with evangelical objections and you only read about Damon Linker on the bump.  The Old Gray Lady ain't what she used to be.

Lowell:  The piece is actually kind of embarrassing.  All that recycled material.

Combining religion, blogging, and presidential politics.  John Edwards shows how it is NOT done.  Stuff on this is everywhere, keep following the links.  This is fair warning to those of you that want to be taken seriously in the blogosphere– side swipes at Mormons probably won't play well.

A ban on "Defamation of Religion" as a new international human right? (HT: Instapundit)  Isn't that a backwards religious test?

John Mark Reynolds compares Romney and Giuliani:

Second, Rudy Giuliani has a philosophy in his personal life that is antithetical to the American tradition. Giuliani has secular-elite morality . . . more libertine than conservative. Can traditionalists trust his basic impulses?

I think John Mark is right and it's fascinating.  The Mormon is far more reflective of middle American Christian values that the east-coast secularist, and yet, the knee jerk reactions come against the Mormon.  Is it just ignorance, or is there more?  There is something to John Podhoretz's contention that Americans want to like Rudy.  Do affections matter more than issues?

Romney on Kudlow on tax policy.
