Today’s Reading List – October 10, 2006
The NYTimes continues its assault on the "separation of church and state." The Times really does seem to want the government to tell the church what to do, but for the church to have no voice in government whatsoever. Once in a while I become amazed at the failure of some to see their utter inconsistency. The thing that really bothers me is that they have some good points when it comes to some regulation, but I am disinclined to grant those points given the absolute insistance on a lack of church voice in government.
Speaking of the church/state divide, Al Mohler gets this one right. And, since it applies to Massachuetts, I'd be very interested to hear what the govnernor has to say.
Captain's Quarters and Holy Coast look at an NYTimes piece, which contends that 9-11, in the words of Captain Ed, "put teflon on Rudy." Come on, get real! He hasn't run since. His very moderate leanings will not stand the light of an actual run – which is why he won't.
While we are reading the NYTimes, they report that GOP'ers actually understand that Foley's misdeeds do not apply to the party as a whole. I think this bodes well for Romney. It shows that the average Republican does not paint with a broad brush and will examine Romney, not just his religion, when deciding who to vote for.
