Romney on 9-11 (HT: The Corner)

Religion and America – A Baylor study.  Most interesting result seventy percent of self-identified Christians reject the term "evangelical."  I've been thinking that term had lost all religious meaning and had become purely a political term.  I think this bodes well in terms of "The Question."

Speaking of "The Question," noted conservative blog, Betsy's Page thinks the presumption in media of creedal prejudice against a Mormon is, in and of itself, a prejudice.  I have said before that I sometimes take it personally and find it insulting.  Lowell:  I'm not an evangelical, but I have mused here about the insulting nature of that assumption. By the way, I thought the idea that Romney would take the oath of office with his hand on the Book of Mormon was unintentionally funny.  Not in a million years!  But is does make me laugh to think about it.

Yours truly on the place of Mormons in the Christian sphere. (Theology discussion alert)  Lowell: I really appreciated this post.  It reflects a maturing of the discussion that seems to be going on.  If this blog, and Romney's candidacy, accomplish nothing else, we'll all be ahead in the game.

Frum analyzes McCain.  Conclusion: Unelectable.

Examiner Romney profile.  Hits "The Question" hard from a polygamy standpoint – Romney does well.  Hits the "moderate-on-life" issue hard, Romney comes off still moderate, though much less so.  Interestingly, is the issue coming down to (and I think this is how Bush is playing it) "Roe v Wade is law, nothing we can do – the line is at stem cells."  Then deal with abortion "in code" by talking about judicial appoinments?  That sounds like pretty smart politics to me.
